Write to btt2118@columbia.edu. This is the right channel for freelance and contract work, full-time roles, speaking invitations, collaborations on the interactive simulations you see on this site, and questions about anything in the portfolio.

If you are writing about work, it helps enormously to include what you are building, roughly when you need it, and whether design, engineering, or both is the gap you are trying to fill. I would rather read three specific sentences than a page of preamble.

## Career questions

I get a steady stream of notes from students and career-changers asking how to break into design engineering. I answer these — send them to LinkedIn rather than email, since that is where I batch them.

I am a generalist by temperament, and I know how disorienting it is to start without a clear title to aim at. If you have questions about building a portfolio, choosing between design and engineering tracks, or finding early-stage footing, ask directly and I will give you a real answer rather than a pleasantry.
